BLRH Partners Michael Carroll, Karin Holma, Bernie Bays are lead counsel for the SHAKA Movement, the proponents for the moratorium against the growing and cultivation of genetically modified crops in Maui County. Maui voters adopted this ordinance at the polls in November 2014 and the law was immediately challenged by two of the world’s largest seed and chemical companies, Monsanto and Dow. The case is currently on appeal with the United States 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
