Overview

Katherine Hiraoka is an associate in the firm’s litigation department, where her areas of practice include business, construction, real estate, complex commercial litigation, and trusts & estates litigation.

Ms. Hiraoka graduated summa cum laude from the William S. Richardson School of Law, University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, where she received several CALI Excellence for the Future Awards. During law school, Ms. Hiraoka served as an extern to the Honorable Mark E. Recktenwald, Chief Justice of the Hawaiʻi Supreme Court, and was a Technical Editor and member of the Publishing Committee for the University of Hawaiʻi Law Review.

Prior to joining LRVW as a full-time associate in 2022, Ms. Hiraoka was a summer associate with the firm in 2020 and 2021.

Experience

  • Represented community association in Maui in an action against utility company for property damage within an easement; resulted in settlement favorable to clients
  • Represented trustee in trust litigation matter against claims of undue influence and breach of fiduciary duty; successfully resolved
  • Represented general contractor in construction defect lawsuit involving a luxury condominium; successfully resolved
